Location: Warsaw, Poland
Work Model: Hybrid
Employment Type: Full‑time
Role Overview
The Senior Delivery & Implementation Manager is responsible for leading end‑to‑end implementation workstreams for Cards, Payments, and Core Banking solutions across European markets. This role serves as the primary delivery lead for assigned client engagements, ensuring high‑quality execution across solution design, configuration, integration, testing, migration, certification, pilot, and go‑live.
This is a senior, client‑facing role requiring strong ownership, delivery governance, and stakeholder management. The ideal candidate brings a blend of delivery leadership, payments domain expertise, consulting experience, and hands‑on knowledge of modern issuer‑processing platforms, API‑based integrations, and cloud‑native financial technology solutions.
The role operates across cross‑functional, multicultural, and distributed teams and plays a critical part in successful client onboarding and platform adoption.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end‑to‑end implementation workstreams for Cards, Payments, and Core Banking solutions across EU markets, from discovery and planning through configuration, testing, certification, migration, pilot, and go‑live.
- Act as the primary delivery point of contact for assigned client workstreams, providing regular status updates, managing expectations, and ensuring clear communication across clients, card schemes, partners, and internal teams.
- Facilitate client workshops to understand business objectives, operating models, regulatory requirements, product needs, integration requirements, and technical constraints.
- Translate client requirements into platform configuration and implementation plans, including BIN setup, authorization flows, account structures, fees, limits, transaction rules, payment flows, and operational parameters.
- Coordinate technical integrations and API validation with engineering, architecture, product, security, and client technology teams.
- Support payment and transaction banking use cases, including debit and credit posting, fund transfers, force transfers, multi‑leg payments, and related API‑driven workflows.
- Identify delivery risks, RAID items, dependencies, and critical path activities; proactively escalate issues with clear mitigation plans and ownership.
- Prepare and maintain delivery artefacts, including implementation plans, RAID logs, dependency trackers, test plans, migration and cutover plans, certification readiness trackers, and handover documentation.
- Support Visa and Mastercard certification activities, including scheme testing, CIQ preparation, BIN validation, mandate compliance, and readiness checkpoints.
- Manage migration activities, including data mapping, reconciliation support, client readiness, cutover planning, dress rehearsals, and go‑live execution.
- Partner with product, engineering, architecture, operations, support, and client success teams to ensure requirements are understood, prioritized, and delivered in a scalable and repeatable manner.
- Drive continuous improvement, identifying delivery inefficiencies, recurring implementation issues, and opportunities to enhance delivery methodology, tooling, and documentation.
- Support post‑go‑live stabilization, issue resolution, operational handover, and transition to long‑term support or customer success teams.
Required Experience
- 8–12+ years of experience in payments, cards, issuer processing, core banking, fintech, banking technology, or financial services transformation.
- Proven delivery leadership experience in roles such as Delivery Lead, Implementation Lead, Client Delivery Manager, Senior Business Analyst, or Business Consultant.
- Demonstrated success leading complex client‑facing implementations across banking, payments, card issuing, processor migrations, ledger migrations, or core banking modernization programs.
- Strong domain expertise in Cards, Payments, and Core Banking, including issuer processing, BIN setup, authorization flows, fees, limits, transaction processing, scheme settlement, reconciliation, and operational readiness.
- Experience delivering projects across European markets, with an understanding of EU banking, payments, and regulatory environments.
- Solid understanding of API‑based platforms, microservices, cloud‑native architectures, and modern SaaS financial technology solutions.
- Experience working with cloud‑native or AWS‑based financial services platforms is highly desirable.
- Ability to configure or support configuration of platform modules, including account products, card programs, BINs, fees, limits, authorization rules, transaction parameters, and payment workflows.
- End‑to‑end ownership of client onboarding, configuration, testing, certification, pilot, migration, cutover, go‑live, and post‑go‑live stabilization.
- Strong experience producing structured delivery artefacts, including implementation plans, RAID logs, functional specifications, test plans, cutover and migration plans, operational handover documentation, and executive status reports.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across clients, delivery, product, engineering, architecture, compliance, operations, and leadership teams.
- Experience working in remote, hybrid, or distributed delivery environments with high accountability.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with modern issuer‑processing platforms, core banking systems, card management systems, or payment processing platforms.
- Familiarity with Visa and Mastercard certification processes, including CIQ, BIN configuration, scheme mandates, network testing, and certification readiness.
- Experience with processor replacement, card portfolio migration, ledger migration, or large‑scale financial platform transformation initiatives.
- Knowledge of EU regulatory and compliance frameworks, including PSD2, Strong Customer Authentication (SCA), PCI DSS, GDPR, and relevant banking and payment regulations.
- Background in fintech, SaaS banking platforms, card issuing platforms, payment processors, or consulting organizations supporting financial institutions.
- Prior consulting or advisory experience with financial services clients is highly desirable.
